WE ROSE!!

The show was a complete success!  Everyone had a blast!  I was so honored to be in a show with so many talented artists J  The turnout for the show was absolutely fanatastic!  Too bad the show was only for one night L  Oh, well! You should have been there ;)  Sometimes, the best things in life only happen for a brief moment ;)

As you could probably imagine, the past week was beyond any number level on the ‘Chaotic Meter’ but it was well worth it!  It was so chaotic that I was out of commission for the whole day on Saturday-haha!

For this upcoming week, I get to continue more in-depth work for my spring show.  I also get to help get the kiln finished and ready for firing J  I need to glaze my pieces that will be in the woodfire.

I will also be taking down the show this week (tomorrow morning, in fact). How sad.

Oh, of course Turkey day is this week too…so I get to cook an artful meal! Hahaha!

There are many photos this time for you to enjoy J

Don’t forget to feed them fishies & I will see you on the flipside!

Getting so close!

31 days until the end of this semester and only 12 days until the fall BA Senior Show! I am über excited and getting very nervous :/  Not to mention-EXTREMELY busy!  No worries though-I GOT THIS.

Here is a quick review of the past week:

I got the amazing opportunity to work with visiting artist Linda Swanson by helping her set up her piece for the show Ephemeral Art and Practice that is being held in the Barr Gallery.  It was an absolutely wonderful experience and she gave me some very good artistic tips and further career suggestions J Saweet!

We got our show cards for the fall show in and I have already addressed and sent the bulk of mine out. I will be distributing the rest this coming week.  We are going to be everywhere (well our cards will be)!  I also got the Facebook event started for the show too and the guest list is a climbing.

As for my art projects, I have finished firing all pieces and have begun the finishing touches in preparation for the show.  I have even found some unique and interesting media to add to some of the pieces.  This show is going to be EPIC!

By the way, I am a rising ‘general’ with an amazingly cute army…

I was also interviewed for an article for the Horizon this past week as well-scary :/

That is enough for now, got to get back to work.

Enjoy the photos-let your imagination fly and don’t forget to feed the fishies!

...

This past couple of weeks (I apologize for missing last week’s post) have continued to be productive.  From making the tort population grow to getting the kiln further along to painting pigs for a fundraiser-it has been quite busy (not including everything else I have been working on!).

Where there was a serious lack of the female gender in one posted picture on the net-a balancing photo of female work ethic has been recently added-yay, balance!

We are feverishly trying to get the wood fire kiln completed so that we can be able to fire at least one load before our fall senior show-which is now less than 20 days away! Can we make it? Only the stars know. Let us hope that those who are counting on using wood fired pieces in the show have a backup plan, just in case :/

I have put in the last of my greenware multiplicity pieces into bisque and am anxiously awaiting their emergence from the kiln. Once they have come out (hopefully intact and with no major damage) I will be running them (the remaining 73) through their next step-cone 6.

With all these firings I have already done and the ones I have left to do-I am really dreading my next electric bill! L

I have also been working on the finishing touches to the other pieces that will be included in the fall show-you know, firing, painting assemblage, etc. It’s going to be great!

I have also begun earnestly trying to find funding assistance for my graduating senior show pieces.  Who knew such creativity could cost so much? I have also began production on the pieces for this show in the spring. (Pictures-much later or possibly after)

On another note: the Space Lab installations by my fellow artists over the past 2 weeks have been very inspiring!  I really enjoyed all 4 installations-way to go, Logan, Tami, Dan & Hermes!

Well, I have to get back to work now-see you on the flipside!

Enjoy the snapshots and don’t forget to feed the fishies…
